Where oversized doors are used

Typical projects include palace and villa entrances, hotel lobbies, mosques, ceremonial public buildings, cultural centres and other landmark entrances where a standard door would appear under-scaled.

Single monumental leaf

Possible only after reviewing weight, hinge geometry, clearances and handling. Large size alone should not drive the design.

Double-leaf composition

Splitting the opening can reduce individual leaf weight and improve daily operation while keeping a monumental elevation.

Side panels & transoms

Fixed elements can create a larger composition without making every moving leaf unnecessarily heavy.

Design options

Oversized doors can be minimal, panelled, geometric, CNC carved or classically moulded. Proportion matters more as size increases, so visual elements should be redrawn rather than simply enlarged from a small reference.
