Nur-i Hümayun Mosque Chandelier – Model CH-0026

This custom-made three-tier circular mosque chandelier combines the elegance of traditional Ottoman and Islamic decorative arts with modern lighting technology and contemporary metal craftsmanship. Designed especially for large mosques, central domes, prayer halls, Islamic complexes, masjids, and other high-ceiling religious interiors, the chandelier functions both as a primary lighting fixture and as a powerful architectural centerpiece.

The design consists of three concentric circular lighting rings positioned at different vertical levels. In the reference configuration, the main outer ring has a diameter of approximately Ø500 cm, the middle ring measures approximately Ø300 cm, and the inner ring measures approximately Ø150 cm. The total height of the chandelier, measured from the ceiling connection point to the lowest lighting level, is approximately 240 cm. Depending on the height of the mosque ceiling or dome, the suspension system and total drop can be modified during project planning.

The upper suspension section includes an approximately 95 cm central suspension rod assembly. This central system connects the chandelier to the ceiling, while multiple radial support rods distribute the load toward the circular rings. The supporting structure is designed to provide visual balance while maintaining the strong architectural character required for large-scale mosque chandeliers.

Each circular ring has an approximate profile depth of 12 cm. Within this profile, the decorative metal finish, illuminated calligraphy sections, and integrated lighting components are combined into a single architectural element. The approximate vertical distance between the outer and middle rings is 60 cm, while the distance between the middle and inner rings is approximately 45 cm. These proportions allow all three levels to remain visually distinct and help prevent the hanging lamps from overlapping excessively when viewed from below.

The main structural and decorative metal components are finished in a premium brass-look or brass-plated metal surface, creating a warm golden appearance that complements classical mosque interiors. The final brass tone, polish level, surface finish, and decorative detailing can be adjusted according to the architectural concept of the project. Alternative metal finishes may also be considered upon request.

The reference model incorporates approximately 57 decorative hanging lamps. The lamps are inspired by traditional Ottoman mosque lanterns and feature elegant frosted or opal glass forms designed to diffuse light softly throughout the prayer space. The metal lamp holders and decorative fittings are coordinated with the brass finish of the main chandelier structure, creating a unified and refined visual language.

In addition to the decorative lamps, the chandelier includes an integrated LED lighting system within the circular rings. Illuminated diffuser sections positioned along the lower surfaces of the rings help emphasize the circular geometry of the chandelier while providing an additional layer of ambient illumination. The combination of decorative lamps and integrated LED lighting creates a multi-layered lighting effect suitable for both functional and ceremonial use.

One of the most distinctive features of the chandelier is the use of illuminated Islamic calligraphy and Qur’anic inscriptions integrated into the circular metal bands. In the reference design, the calligraphy is illuminated in green, creating a strong visual contrast with the brass surface. The inscriptions, verses, decorative motifs, and calligraphic compositions can be fully customized according to the client’s requirements.

Custom options may include inscriptions such as Allah, Muhammad, the Shahada, Qur’anic verses, or other Arabic calligraphy selected specifically for the project. The positioning of the calligraphy, decorative medallions, geometric ornaments, repetition patterns, and illuminated sections can all be finalized during the design stage. The illumination color of the calligraphy can also be adapted according to the interior concept where technically appropriate.

The three circular rings, central suspension assembly, and radial supporting members are engineered as an integrated structural system. For large-diameter mosque chandeliers, the ceiling fixing point, suspension height, chandelier weight, structural load capacity, and installation conditions must be evaluated prior to production. For this reason, final production drawings are prepared according to the ceiling structure, dome height, installation level, and technical conditions of the building.

The dimensions of Ø500 cm for the outer ring, Ø300 cm for the middle ring, and Ø150 cm for the inner ring represent the reference configuration of this model. Since the chandelier is produced on a project-specific basis, the diameters can be increased or reduced according to the scale of the mosque.

Similarly, the approximately 240 cm total height, 95 cm suspension rod assembly, 60 cm and 45 cm vertical ring spacing, 12 cm ring profile depth, and approximately 57-lamp configuration may be revised according to architectural and technical requirements. This allows the same design language to be adapted for both medium-sized prayer halls and large central-domed mosques.

The electrical system is planned with concealed wiring wherever possible so that visible cables do not interfere with the overall appearance of the chandelier. The decorative lamp circuits and integrated LED lighting may also be configured as separate electrical circuits, allowing different lighting scenarios where required. Maintenance and service access can be considered during technical planning to simplify future inspection and component replacement.
