MATERIAL & CRAFT

A Material System Built Around Detail and Workmanship

The correct dome cladding is selected by balancing appearance, geometry, weight, local climate, maintenance expectations, substrate condition and budget. Traditional projects may prioritise lead or copper, while contemporary mosques may favour aluminium, titanium zinc or stainless steel.

Curved surfaces require disciplined panel planning. Standing seams, flat-lock panels, radial segments and custom transitions must follow the dome profile while managing water movement and material expansion. The supporting substrate and waterproofing layer are part of the same envelope decision.

SERVICE SCOPE

  • New mosque domes
  • Historic dome re-cladding
  • Minaret roofs and spires
  • Shadirvan domes
PROJECT GUIDANCE

Choose the Metal With the Full Roof Build-Up in Mind

Metal choice affects more than colour. Sheet behaviour, seam pattern, support spacing, expansion, forming method and the visual scale of the dome all change from one material system to another. The most appropriate option should therefore be selected together with the substrate and waterproofing concept.

Before You Request a Quote

Which cladding material is best for a mosque dome?
There is no universal best material. Architecture, substrate, climate, budget, desired finish and local technical requirements should be compared before selection.
Can dome and minaret cladding be supplied together?
Yes. Coordinating both elements helps keep seam language, colour and finishing details consistent across the exterior.
Do you provide waterproofing below the metal?
Waterproofing and ventilation can be included or coordinated depending on the project scope. The exact build-up must suit the substrate and local conditions.
Can an existing dome be re-clad?
Yes, subject to survey. The existing substrate and concealed layers should be assessed before deciding whether the old cladding can remain, must be removed or requires repair.
