Trennwände für Frauenbereiche in Moscheen: Holzlattice, Glas und mobile Screens
Women’s mosque partitions should provide privacy while preserving sightlines, airflow and visual unity with the prayer hall.
Systemoptionen
Wood lattice offers a traditional architectural language, glass can keep interiors light, and movable screens provide flexibility for events and changing attendance.
Key decisions
- Required privacy level and panel height.
- Fixed versus movable configuration.
- Floor, wall and ceiling fixing conditions.
- Finish coordination with mihrab, doors and wall cladding.

Privacy level should be defined
Women’s prayer-area partitions may provide a visual screen, directional sight barrier or a more enclosed boundary. Timber lattice, patterned glass and movable panels behave differently for privacy, airflow, sound and maintenance.
Compare common systems
- Wood lattice: warm character and controlled visibility.
- Patterned glass: light transmission with a contemporary appearance.
- Movable panels: flexible capacity with storage needs.
- Curtains: economical but less durable.
Coordinate height with HVAC, audio and emergency circulation. See the women’s prayer-area guide.
Sight-line testing
Privacy should be checked from realistic positions: seated prayer rows, standing circulation, stair landings and entrances. A screen that appears opaque at eye level may allow direct views from an upper gallery or diagonal approach. A simple site mock-up can prevent this problem before fabrication.
Measure privacy from actual viewing angles
A screen that appears opaque in an elevation can become transparent when viewed diagonally or from a raised position. Mock-ups or 3D sight-line studies are useful where lattice spacing and privacy are critical.
