Finish families

Brushed / satin stainless

Controlled reflection with directional grain. Fabrication and installation should keep grain direction consistent.

Mirror stainless

High reflection creates a dramatic landmark effect but makes distortion and surface waviness more visible.

Gold PVD stainless

A coloured stainless strategy for premium gold appearance without specifying solid brass sheet.

Custom coloured stainless

Finish supplier, process, batch consistency, repair method and exterior warranty should be confirmed before approval.

Stainless vs brass

For a gold mosque dome, “gold colour” is not one material. Solid brass, coated metal and gold-finish stainless have different substrates, weathering, repair and maintenance profiles. The tender specification should state the base metal, grade/alloy, surface process, sample approval method and exterior performance requirement.

Technical reference basis

The detailing logic in this library follows MosqueBuild project-planning practice together with public architectural-metal references. The Copper Development Association documents radial standing-seam dome geometry, converging seams, crown caps, cleats and continuous substrate principles for copper domes. Final alloy, gauge, wind design, waterproofing, fire, lightning protection, substrate and local-code requirements must always be confirmed for the actual project.

Which stainless finish works best on a mosque dome?
That depends on the desired reflectivity, maintenance approach and architectural context. Satin or brushed directions often create a calmer surface than highly polished metal.
Can stainless steel be used with other metals?
Yes, but contact between dissimilar metals must be considered by the project detailing to avoid incompatible interfaces.
Can the material be used on minarets?
Yes, subject to the minaret geometry and fixing system.
Will reflections look identical to the 3D configurator?
No. The configurator is only a visual direction. Real reflections depend on the exact finish, surrounding environment, weather and lighting.
