Mosque Wall & Column Cladding Specification Checklist

A final pre-production checklist covering materials, geometry, substructure, services, samples, drawings, logistics and maintenance for mosque cladding packages.

Define the architectural scope

List exactly which walls and columns receive cladding and where each finish begins and ends. Mark qibla zones, side walls, entrance areas, circulation, column numbers and any surfaces excluded from the package.

The elevation should show the relationship to mihrab, minbar, doors, windows, calligraphy, ceilings and carpet. This prevents separate scopes from creating competing datums.

Lock the material build-up

Record visible material, core or substrate, panel thickness, finish, edge treatment, backing and intended fixing method. For hybrid walls, identify transition details between timber, stone, GRC, tile or acoustic zones.

Confirm fire, moisture, cleaning and acoustic requirements with the responsible professionals before procurement. Performance assumptions should not remain hidden inside a decorative description.

Freeze geometry and service coordination

Verify wall dimensions, column geometry, panel modules, joint widths, base and capital details. Show speakers, sockets, grilles, controls, lighting cavities and removable service panels on the fabrication drawings.

For CNC motifs and calligraphy, approve scale, orientation and border conditions on the full elevation—not only as isolated artwork.

Prepare production, delivery and handover information

Approve shop drawings, finish samples and any required mock-up before mass production. Number panels and crates in a way that the installation team can follow directly from the drawing set.

Before shipment, confirm site access, unloading, storage, installation responsibility and the required spare or replacement pieces. At handover, provide cleaning methods, finish references and access-panel information.

Project checklist

  • Scope every wall and column
  • Approve full material build-up
  • Verify dimensions and joint widths
  • Freeze MEP and lighting positions
  • Approve samples with shop drawings
  • Plan packing, installation and maintenance records
